Border Line Doubles are designed for exactly this reality.

The lighter shade helps camouflage visible scalp at the base of white hairs and boosts the brightness of streaks or “money pieces.”

The deeper shade camouflages the scalp at the base of darker hairs and lets you add subtle depth, shadow, and definition where you want it.

How to use

Border Line Doubles are designed to let you add unique brightness, volume and depth to silver, gray and white hair.

Use the white shade to:

  • camouflage a visible scalp wherever white hairs look sparse
  • add opacity to translucent white baby hairs or fine regrowth
  • amplify bright pieces and highlights around the face, part, and hairline

Use the deeper shade to:

  • add root shadow at the hairline or part adding interest and depth
  • deepen selected streaks in lighter or mixed silvering hair
  • create the appearance of more dimension and denser-looking hair

Application tips:

  • Starting about 1/4” from the edge, use the brush to apply powder to visible scalp areas along the hairline or part
  • Push powder into scalp where overly visible to mattify and give the appearance of density
  • Sweep the white shade along lighter pieces to amplify highlights
  • Sweep the deeper shade along selected areas to add low-light effect, root depth, or soft shadow
  • To maintain shininess of whites, apply the powder ONE LAYER under the topmost layer of hair leaving the topmost layer powder-free

Which shade should I choose?

Choose based on your original hair color. If your natural tone was darker brown or black, choose Salt & Pepper for a cooler, deeper effect. If you were blonde, red, or light brown, choose Sugar & Spice for softer, warmer depth. Each palette is designed to work with the natural mix of tones in silvering hair, not flatten it into one shade.

How long does it last on my hair?

Border Line Doubles stays in place until your next shampoo.

Will it transfer onto clothes or pillowcases?

No. The formula is designed to be transfer-resistant and stay where you apply it.

Will using this affect my hair growth?

No. Border Line Doubles sits on the surface of the hair and scalp to create the look of density and dimension. It does not penetrate the follicle or interfere with the hair growth cycle.

What is third-party certified asbestos-free talc?

We understand the concerns around talc and have looked carefully into the science. The talc used in Border Line Doubles is independently tested by a third-party laboratory to confirm it is asbestos-free. We use it because it is exceptionally effective at creating a smooth, natural-looking fill while staying lightweight, silky and precise.

Is Border Line Doubles gluten-free?

Yes. Border Line Doubles is gluten-free. We know a growing number of women are developing gluten sensitivities, so this was important to us.

Is Border Line Doubles okay for sensitive scalps?

Yes. Our pressed powder is fragrance-free, gluten-free and made without sparkles or other obvious irritants. Of course, everyone is different, so if you are sensitive to new products, we recommend doing a small spot test behind the ear before applying.

How do I use it with other Silvering products?

For best results, layer your Silvering products in this order:
